No. Heartbeat should be able to recover from split brain.
However, there are reports on failures in this case. However
again...

A split brain is a very very very very bad thing. It should not
be allowed to ever happen. If there is a chance that it does then
you need to redesign your cluster. Healthy communication is the
one most important thing. If it fails, well, all bets are off.

And pulling network cables is not a good way to test.
