this seems to really be a bug in the source - if i change the time of 
the system (or wait one more day) the tools work again.

Sure, this may be the best solution - but since i've written some 
Nagios-plugins based on tools like "crm_resource" or "crm_mon" the 
new-years-day begins with two handful of errors ;o)
