to model more than just the environments that can be expressed as
linear groups and provide much more flexibility.

we were supposed to have a pretty GUI that would negate the need for
most users to ever see the raw xml.  alas for all but the most basic
clusters, that is still not the case.

either use the v1 conversion script or set up a basic cluster with the gui.
from there it should be pretty easy to spot recurring themes of what
resources etc look like.
