[Linux-HA] Unable to assign virtual ip address...

Hi,

I'm having some troubles getting the virtual ip address assigned using
heartbeat. I have setup two servers as follows:

NIC1, box1:
IP: 192.168.0.17
SM: 255.255.255.248

NIC1, box2:
IP: 192.168.0.18
SM: 255.255.255.248

NIC2, box1:
IP: 192.168.1.25
SM: 255.255.255.248

NIC2, box2
IP: 192.168.1.26
SM: 255.255.255.248

VIP:
IP: 167.177.52.129
SN: 255.255.255.128

When heartbeat fails a server over and it tries to acquire the shared IP
address,

it shows the following in /var/log/ha‑log:

heartbeat: 2005/06/29_12:00:33 info: Running
/etc/ha.d/resource.d/IPaddr

167.177.52.129 start

heartbeat: 2005/06/29_12:00:33 info: /sbin/ifconfig eth0:0
167.177.52.129

netmask 255.255.255.128 broadcast 167.177.52.255

heartbeat: 2005/06/29_12:00:33 ERROR: Return code 255
from /etc/ha.d/resource.d/IPaddr

And it does not failover with the vip. We are just wondering what the
return code 255 is in the last message above.

My ha.cf:

debugfile /var/log/ha‑debug
logfile /var/log/ha‑log
logfacility local0
keepalive 2
deadtime 30
warntime 10
initdead 60
baud 19200
serial /dev/ttyS0
bcast eth1
ucast eth1 192.168.1.25
auto_failback off
node linora1
node linora2
respawn hacluster /usr/lib/heartbeat/ipfail
ping 192.168.0.17

I am on sles9/sp1. I'm sure that there is something I am overlooking
but just wasn't sure what to look at.

I'm open to any suggestions or comments and really appreciate your help.

Thank you,

Jeff R. Christensen
